July 8, 2019 – The Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons has re-verified the Smith Level I Shock Trauma Center at Eskenazi Health at Level I, the highest level of trauma care available. This achievement recognizes the trauma center’s dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients.

A proven leader who has been with Eskenazi Health for five years, Carlos Hernandez Arreaza serves as the health center manager for Eskenazi Health Center Grassy Creek at 9443 E. 38th St. Hernandez Arreaza also manages the dental office at Eskenazi Health Midtown Community Mental Health at 1650 College Ave., and for several months he helped manage optometry services at Eskenazi Health Center Forest Manor and Eskenazi Health Center Pecar.

Kathreen Covington of Indianapolis has been coming to Eskenazi Health for a long time. She was born at Indianapolis General Hospital, which changed its name to Wishard Memorial Hospital in 1975 and later became Eskenazi Health in December 2013.

In honor of a $5 million gift from Sandy Eskenazi for mental health services, Midtown Community Mental Health, a division of Eskenazi Health, will be renamed the Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center.

May 30, 2019 – Accomplished pianist Marianne Tobias, Ph.D., a resident musicologist, pre-concert lecturer and program annotator for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, will perform a special music concert with special guest vocalist Melissa Dickson on Thursday, June 6.
