While physical and occupational therapy may be the most well-known forms of rehabilitation, these services are just two of many types of rehabilitative services available to patients recovering from illness or injury. The act of rehabilitation, in which the body rebuilds its strength and retrains its muscle group functions after battling a serious condition, can be performed on many areas of the body, each with a different function and focus.
Based at Eskenazi Health Center West 38th Street and at the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, Eskenazi Health Rehabilitation Services specialists provide physical, occupational and speech therapy to both inpatients and outpatients. Encompassing the full continuum of rehabilitative care, the care team provides therapy to children and adults for a wide range of needs related to orthopaedics, neurology, speech language pathology, swallowing deficits, pelvic health (male and female), women’s health issues, burns, wound care and lymphedema.
