Social determinants of health screening data shows that many people in the community are struggling with stress, social isolation, poor mental health and insufficient physical activity. Wellness Walks promote the many benefits of walking, including improving mood, reducing stress, burning calories, and strengthening the cardiovascular system and bones. Plus, walking can be a fun social activity.
These leisurely walks will last about 30 minutes and cover half a mile to one and half miles depending upon each participant’s level of comfort. Please visit EskenaziHealth.edu/Healthy-Me and click on the “Events” tab to find the nearest location and walk schedule. More Wellness Walks will be scheduled soon, so be sure to check back regularly.
