Internship Program Open to Applicants

The Eskenazi Health Emerging Professionals Internship Program is now accepting applications. Indiana residents who are pursuing four-year undergraduate degrees at accredited colleges and universities in and out of the state in a multitude of clinical and non-clinical career paths can apply.

The eight-week program aims to expand opportunities that support the communities Eskenazi Health serves, provide an array of leadership development opportunities for college students from Indiana and motivate talented students to consider living in the state and possibly working for Eskenazi Health upon graduation.

The program is a collaborative effort between many clinical and non-clinical teams at Eskenazi Health. It is led by Christia Hicks, chief human resources officer, and Kimberly Curry, director of Eskenazi Health Specialty Care. Program interns are provided with a range of opportunities, such as networking events with senior leadership, chances to complete certifications, an interview skills workshop with the chief human resources officer and lunch-and-learn sessions with subject matter experts on topics such as financial well-being and mental health.

Last year Marcus Handy, internship program coordinator, was hired to manage the operations of the program, which falls within Eskenazi Health Volunteer Services. "Eskenazi Health is proud to be home to an incredible team of compassionate, mission-driven professionals within and beyond health care,” he said. “I am excited for the unique opportunity to host the next generation of emerging leaders this summer, and for them to be mentored by my wonderful colleagues within the organization."

Potential interns can find the online application and more details on requirements here. The deadline is 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15. Panel interviews conducted via Webex will begin in February. The internships start on Monday, June 8 and conclude on Friday, July 31. At least 15 spots will be available this year.
