Eskenazi Health to Host Community Day Health Fair

Free health screenings and limited number of free flu shots will be available Oct. 19

Indianapolis, Oct. 8, 2019 – Eskenazi Health Center Grassy Creek will host an Eskenazi Health Center Community Day Health Fair on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., where free health screenings and a limited number of flu shots will be available.

Health screenings provided during the health fair at 9443 E. 38th Street will include blood pressure, body mass index, oral health and more. Everyone attending the fair will have the opportunity to receive free giveaways and win door prizes.

The Community Day Health Fair will also offer free information about nutrition, women’s health, adolescent health, Indianapolis EMS, mental health and health insurance. Radio One will be partnering on the event and will broadcast live during the fair.

The event is being planned by three Eskenazi Health Center locations: Eskenazi Health Center Forest Manor, Eskenazi Health Center Grassy Creek and Eskenazi Health Center North Arlington.

“Our Community Day Health Fair provides the ideal opportunity for everyone to take advantage of our free health screenings and get accustomed to coming to us for their primary care health needs,” said Dr. Broderick Rhyant, chief executive physician at Eskenazi Health Center Forest Manor and Eskenazi Health Primary Care associate chief medical officer. “Our knowledgeable and friendly staff looks forward to welcoming everyone to our outstanding facility at Eskenazi Health Center Grassy Creek.”

All Eskenazi Health Center locations offer a variety of services that include OB/GYN, mental health, primary care (pediatric, adolescent and adult), medical-legal partnership, a pharmacy, diabetes education, dietetics consultation, and women, infants and children services provided by the Marion County Public Health Department. 

Eskenazi Health Center Grassy Creek also hosts Centering Pregnancy groups for women who are at similar stages in their pregnancies. A physician meets with each group to educate them on pregnancy and what to expect, giving mothers the chance to get to know and interact with other moms in similar stages.
