Celebrate Make Music Day on June 21, 2026

Eskenazi Health is excited to once again spearhead Make Music Day on Sunday, June 21, when musicians of all ages and skill levels share their love of music with communities around the world. Free performances and events are being held in the Indianapolis area, including at Eskenazi Health.

Make Music Day began in France in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique and is now celebrated on the same day in more than 1,000 cities and 120 countries. Make Music Day made its American debut in New York City in 2007. Since then, over 100 cities throughout the country have established city-wide celebrations providing free music and music-making opportunities for the community.

This is the fourth year Make Music Day will be recognized in Indianapolis as a city-wide event. Eskenazi Health will be collaborating with new and existing partners and supporters of the Marianne Tobias Music Program at Eskenazi Health for its June 21 celebration. A full listing of free music events taking place throughout the greater Indianapolis area can be found at MakeMusicDay.org/Indy.

Eskenazi Health will celebrate Make Music Indy earlier than the official event. On Thursday, June 18, a group drumming experience will be led by the Eskenazi Health Music Therapy team from 12 to 12:30 p.m. in the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation Concourse. Visitors to the downtown campus are encouraged to participate.
