Eskenazi Health is committed to helping patients, visitors and employees make healthy food choices that are rich in flavor and budget friendly. The Choose Health initiative was created with the intent to further improve the nutritional profile and reduce the sodium content of food served at Eskenazi Health. Select Eskenazi Health dining locations offer a Choose Health meal of the day, which have fewer than 600 calories, 0 grams of trans fat and contain fewer than 800 milligrams of sodium.

The Choose Health effort can be seen throughout our dining locations, and include:

  • A traffic signal campaign to easily and quickly identify healthier salad bar and vending machine choices by color (red, yellow or green)
  • Fresh fruit available for purchase in all retail locations
  • Grab-and-go snacks with a more healthful profile and smaller size for use in vending machines and retail locations
  • Free water stations in retail areas to encourage water consumption 
  • Expansion of the Fresh For You market, which encourages the purchase of more fresh fruits and vegetables for home use

  • Ingram Micro Mobility Marketplace

    The Ingram Micro Mobility Marketplace, located on the second floor of the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, offers grab-and-go food items, deli, Italian pizza station, hot grill, hot station, salad bar and action station.

  • Café Soleil and Café Soleil Express

    Located on the first floor of the Fifth Third Bank Building at Eskenazi Health, Café Soleil is Eskenazi Health’s unique sit-down restaurant. It offers a contemporary, American menu recently updated with a variety of new offerings, including several brunch dishes, salads, daily specials, soups, sandwiches, wraps, BBQ, a full gourmet salad bar and more.

    For visitors on the go, Café Soleil Express is located next to Café Soleil and offers a full array of takeout items for breakfast and lunch along with multiple flavors of healthy and creamy regular and frozen yogurt with nutritious toppings.

    Café Soleil Hours:
    The chef-attended Café Soleil Gourmet Salad Bar and Chef’s Table is open from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Full service dining is currently not available, but menu items can be ordered at Café Soleil Express. Guests are welcome to utilize the Café Soleil dining room during regular hours of operation.

    7 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday - Friday

  • Starbucks
    Visitors will find a Starbucks on the first floor of the Fifth Third Bank Building at Eskenazi Health, featuring a full line of Starbucks specialty beverages and food items.

  • Eskenazi Health Fresh for You Market at the Frank & Katrina Basile Pavilion

    The Eskenazi Health Fresh for You Market at the Frank & Katrina Basile Pavilion is located on the Eskenazi Health downtown campus, directly outside the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital on The Matthew R. Gutwein Commonground. The market offers grocery items, fresh fruits and vegetables, pre-prepped foods, healthy snacks, convenience ingredients, kitchen utensils and pantry staples, in addition to freshly made lunch, with menus curated in collaboration with local chefs, and pre-made dinners to go.

    HOURS

    10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Friday
    Lunch is available from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

  • Eskenazi Health Fresh for You Market on Wheels

    The Fresh for You Market on Wheels is a mobile grocery store/food pantry that is parked at a different location in Indianapolis each weekday providing accessibility for community residents. It offers a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen proteins and produce, milk, bread, pantry staples, and more. Hot food is also served by an on-board chef.

    9 a.m. – 2 p.m. daily at the following locations:

    • Monday: Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, 3171 N. Meridian St.
    • Tuesday: Eskenazi Health Center West 38th Street, 5515 W. 38th St.
    • Wednesday: Eskenazi Health Center Forest Manor, 3840 N. Sherman Dr.
    • Thursday: Eskenazi Health Center Grassy Creek, 9443 E. 38th St. 
    • Friday: Edna Martin Christian Center, 2605 E. 25th St.
