With a special open enrollment period for 2021 health insurance plans scheduled to begin on Monday, Feb. 15, Eskenazi Health encourages anyone in need of health insurance to take advantage of this opportunity to learn about the various health coverage plans available with help from our highly-trained financial counselors. This new open enrollment period in the Marketplace will be available through May 15.

With temperatures forecast in the near future to plummet well below the freezing mark, the Richard M. Fairbanks Burn Center at Eskenazi Health wants everyone to take the proper precautions to avoid the terrible agony of frostbite and additional cold weather injuries, and also be cognizant of the dangers associated with improper use of space heaters.

A new training is now being offered at Eskenazi Health that is aimed at equipping community professionals with skills proven to aid in alleviating trauma and secondary trauma. The need for such skills have been heightened recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eskenazi Health has announced plans for continued investments in primary care that include expanding existing Eskenazi Health Center locations with additional exam rooms and increasing access to programs and services.

Eskenazi Health has named Kimberly McElroy-Jones, Ph.D., DMin, Director of Community Partnerships for Community Health. In her new position, Dr. McElroy-Jones will lead Eskenazi Health’s efforts to enhance social care through strategic relationships with community-based organizations.

Over the past few weeks, Eli Lilly and Company and the Lilly Foundation partnered with Eskenazi Health to celebrate the annual Lilly Global Day of Service where Eli Lilly volunteers wrote personal “thank you” cards to Eskenazi Health essential workers and made masks for patients and families.

Open enrollment in the marketplace runs from Nov. 1 to Dec. 15.

The Eskenazi Health Foundation Board of Directors has approved a $300,000 grant to support a new housing rights and eviction helpline. The Eskenazi Health Medical-Legal Partnership’s Housing Rights & Eviction Helpline is a partnership between Eskenazi Health and Indiana Legal Services, a not-for-profit law firm and the largest provider of free civil legal assistance to eligible low-income people throughout the state of Indiana.

In her expanded leadership role, Rogers will continue Eskenazi Health’s commitment to fiscal responsibility while fostering strategic growth and improvement initiatives and further enhancing partnerships between finance and clinical and operational leaders.
