Eskenazi Health Named a Top Employer for Women in the U.S.

Forbes Magazine list also ranked Eskenazi Health 11th best for women’s hospital employer

Indianapolis, Sept. 5, 2018 – Eskenazi Health has been named by Forbes Magazine as the 32nd best women’s employer in the U.S. and the 11th best nationally among hospital facilities. The magazine partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 40,000 employees, including 25,000 women, at companies across the U.S.

“Our priority at Eskenazi Health remains the overall health of the community in the broadest possible terms,” said Dr. Lisa Harris, chief executive officer at Eskenazi Health. “Our biggest opportunity to have a positive impact on the health of our patients is committing to attracting the best and brightest minds in health and wellness, and providing the latest technology and treatments – all in an environment of learning, healing and healthful living.”

Respondents of the survey were first asked to rate their organizations on criteria such as working conditions, diversity and how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others. These responses were reviewed for potential gender gaps. So if women, for example, rated an organization poorly on diversity, but men rated it highly, Statista would take that into account and adjust the company’s score accordingly. .

In addition to the latest Forbes ranking, Eskenazi Health was recently named as one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare.” It marked the third consecutive year that Eskenazi Health has earned this highly-valued and meaningful distinction.
