A Letter from Eskenazi Health CEO Dr. Lisa Harris

Dear Valued Patient:

For more than 160 years, Eskenazi Health has been committed to serving our community, including being here through challenging times. The COVID-19 situation continues to evolve quickly, but we are ready to help you navigate through this time of uncertainty. A number of precautionary measures have been put in place throughout our organization to keep our patients safe and to limit exposure to others.

Some of these measures include cancelling non-urgent primary, mental and specialty care appointments; postponing elective surgeries and procedures; and suspending outpatient therapy services for non-urgent patients. Patients with cancelled appointments should receive a phone call informing them of the cancellation. Eskenazi Health Center and Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center locations are limiting hours and offering more telephone visits. Primary care e-Visits are also available through Eskenazi Health MyChart.

If your appointment remains scheduled and you are ill with flu symptoms such as fever, new cough, or shortness of breath, please call 317.880.7666 before coming to your appointment.

Effective March 25, no visitors will be permitted to Eskenazi Health facilities for the foreseeable future. Some exceptions may be granted, but the general guidance is for no visitors. We appreciate you understanding and helping to keep yourself and others safe.

Please do all you can to keep you and your family healthy. Practice social distancing and avoid large gatherings. Avoid contact with people who are sick. Practice and encourage proper hand washing in your household. Additional tips can be found here http://bit.ly/2wkMjWG. This is an unprecedented time that may cause feelings of fear or anxiety. Eskenazi Health has tips on how to cope during this time, which can be found at http://bit.ly/33u3scF.

Additional information regarding COVID-19 can be accessed online from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at https://bit.ly/3bhNCod or from the Indiana State Department of Health at http://bit.ly/389Omtm, both of which are updated regularly.

The health and safety of our patients is of the utmost importance. We will continue to update our procedures with this as our guiding principle. Please visit www.EskenaziHealth.edu for the latest updates. Thank you for continuing to trust us to provide care for you and your families.

Sincerely,

Lisa Harris, M.D.
