The 2023 St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild Decorators’ Show House and Gardens, the longest running decorator show house event in the nation, will once again welcome the public to tour a classic Indianapolis home with proceeds benefiting Eskenazi Health. This year’s residence, the Failey House, is located at 57 E. 57th St.

The annual event runs from Saturday, April 29, through Sunday, May 14. Hours are 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Saturday; 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 and May 7; and 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 14. The show house is closed on Mondays. Tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be sold at the door. Tickets can be purchased at www.showhouseindy.org. Parking is available on neighboring streets, and a map can also be found online.

This year’s show house marks the 62nd time the St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild has hosted the event, which will feature the work of local design firms and landscape companies who have used their talents and creativity to transform the historic Failey House. Construction on the home began in 1927 and was completed a year later. Built by Robert Burnett Failey and Mary Rebecca Parrott Failey, both of Indianapolis and whose families were early settlers of the city, the 6,670-square-foot home was originally built with seven bedrooms, four full bathrooms, three half-bathrooms and an attached three-car-garage.

For more than 115 years, St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild has been a key partner in supporting Eskenazi Health’s mission. From its beginning in 1907, the Guild has raised $14 million to support the work of Eskenazi Health. This generous philanthropic support has benefited Eskenazi Health patients directly through programs and services. The dedicated members of the Guild work tirelessly and enthusiastically through the Decorators’ Show House and Gardens and many other initiatives for the benefit of Eskenazi Health’s patients and its mission.

This year’s show house will benefit the John & Kathy Ackerman Mental Health Professional Development Center at Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, which aims to build a comprehensive workforce development plan that encompasses all disciplines of mental health care, offering professional experience and support in order to create a talent pipeline from which Eskenazi Health can hire and continue to invest in employees’ growth and development, while increasing the number of mental health providers in the community.
