Farmers’ Market to Return to Eskenazi Health on June 15

Jun 11, 2021, 14:50 PM by Emily Young

On Tuesday, June 15, the Eskenazi Health Farmers’ Market will resume providing fresh and local produce, fresh baked goods, and other market items. After a year off because of the pandemic, this year’s market is determined to be an enjoyable success.

Every Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., The Matthew R. Gutwein Commonground in front of the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital will host various local vendors such as 3 in 1 Restaurant, Creative Wandering, D&S Kettle Corn, Gluten Free Creations and A Dog Bakery. There will also be a wide selection of produce from Indiana farmers.

As an extension of Café Soleil, Bud’s BBQ will set up during the Farmers’ Market to serve one of the city’s tastiest lunches. The cookout menu includes an array of locally sourced food.

Items sold at the Eskenazi Health Farmers’ Market are grown or made within 150 miles of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus and within the state of Indiana. This is an intentional initiative to help support the local economy.

The Farmers’ Market will be conducted throughout the summer months and end on Tuesday, Sept. 14. The Farmers’ Market was initially set to take place on June 8, but rain in the forecast caused it to be postponed. For the time being, when inclement weather threatens, the Farmers’ Market will be postponed to the next week instead of moved indoors.

Please remember to wear a mask, maintain social distancing and follow instructions displayed on signs while in attendance.
