On Wednesday, March 28, employees of Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) and the Smith Level I Shock Trauma Center at Eskenazi Health will be hosting a Stop the Bleed health fair from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Indianapolis City Market. The public is invited to attend and learn appropriate bleeding control techniques and compression-only CPR.
Stop the Bleed is a national campaign launched by the White House in 2015 and is intended to bring bleeding control awareness and education to communities, teaching bystanders how to properly control bleeding on a traumatically injured person while waiting for first responders. National Stop the Bleed Day is recognized on March 31. For more information, visit www.stopthebleedday.org.
