Weather & Other Natural Disasters

Indiana deals with all types of weather, including severe thunderstorms, tornados, flooding, as well as snow and ice storms.  All of these events could potentially impact Eskenazi Health so we carefully monitor the weather. 

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration – the lead agency for all weather information around the country. The only agency that issues watches and warnings.

Earthquakes

Indiana and the entire Midwest have one of the most active earthquake fault lines in the world (New Madrid Fault Line).  Emergency Management participated in the Great Midwestern Shakeout in April 2011 to get practice on preparing and responding to earthquakes.
