The Ceramics Program offered by Midtown helps patients develop skills in the areas of cognitive functioning, coping skills and self-expression. Clients learn basic hand-building techniques like coil and slab construction and have an opportunity to engage in teamwork, develop interpersonal communication skills, and build positive relationships with peers. Clients also have the opportunity to be recognized for their artwork through Midtown’s art shows.
Clients must be referred through a doctor, therapist or care coordinator. Participation needs to be identified as a medical necessity in their treatment plan.
