Eskenazi Health Addiction Services
Eskenazi Health Midtown Community Mental Health Adult Addiction Services provides outpatient services for clients with drug and alcohol dependence as well as problem gambling addiction.
Our fully integrated, dual-diagnosis treatment includes services for clients with addiction and mental health issues with treatment focusing on the fundamentals of recovery, development of recovery plans and relapse prevention. Individual, group and family therapy along with case management services are also provided. Psychiatric services are provided by our addiction psychiatrists, and our multi-disciplinary team works together to offer clients a combination of therapies and medications to support recovery and overall wellness.
Eskenazi Health Midtown also provides detoxification treatment, outpatient detox services for alcohol, benzodiazepines and opiates with linkage to treatment services. Clients are seen Monday through Friday on a daily basis for assessment of symptoms, vital signs and brief mental status exams. Detox services are individualized and generally last between two to four weeks.
Gambling treatment is offered to clients dealing with problem gambling issues. These services include education, assessment, financial counseling, and individual, group and family treatment.
Other Features of Addictions Programs
- Treatment for tobacco use has been incorporated into all existing addictions treatment groups to increase awareness and provide support for clients with nicotine dependence.
- Specialized treatment is available for expectant and/or new mothers.
- After-hours or emergency services are seen through the Thota Rao, M.D. & Aruna Rau, M.D. Crisis Intervention Unit at Eskenazi Health and the Michael & Susan Smith Emergency Department at Eskenazi Health.
Eskenazi Health Midtown is a community treatment provider in the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Clinical Trials Network. This national network of research and training centers and community treatment programs select and test the newest interventions in professional addiction treatment. Persons suffering from addiction are offered the opportunity to participate in studies by receiving care proven to be effective by some of the nation’s leading scientists in addiction research.
