Eskenazi Health will begin offering MyChart e-Visits December 11. Established Eskenazi Health patients who are MyChart users can log into their accounts, select from a list of symptoms, answer a series of online questions and submit their information. An Eskenazi Health provider will send his or her treatment recommendations via Eskenazi Health MyChart or by telephone if that seems more appropriate.
“We always recommend seeing your primary care provider if possible,” said Dr. Dawn Haut, chief executive officer of Eskenazi Health Center, “but there may be times when initiating an e-Visit is more convenient outside of normal business hours or due to bad weather, lack of transportation or just not wanting to go out.”
E-Visits are intended for common conditions, and not emergency situations. The common conditions that will initially be available for e-Visits are:
- Sinus issues (congestion, ear pain, sneezing)
- Sore throat
- Cough
- Eye redness or irritation
- Back pain
- Diarrhea
- Heartburn
- Pain when urinating
- Vaginal discharge
The cost for an e-Visit is $5 through March 9, 2018.
