Eskenazi Health will be hosting a community health fair on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Eskenazi Health West 38th Street, located at 5515 W. 38th St.
Free health screenings, including blood pressure, glucose and depression, will be provided to guests. Participants will also have a chance to meet nurses and physicians who provide care at the health center, and visit a wide variety of information booths on topics such as health insurance, family planning, immigrant and refugee communities, nutrition and wellness, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and autism, as well as information on Eskenazi Health Multicultural Affairs. CPR training will also be available.
Eskenazi Health Rehabilitation Services, which is located at the facility, will be on hand to showcase its outpatient areas and services. Fair participants will also have a chance to dispose of unwanted prescription medications at the event.
“The Eskenazi Health West 38th Street Health Fair offers a great opportunity for families in Indianapolis to take advantage of the various health resources and screening tools all at one location,” said Dr. Kenneth Klotz, chief physician executive at Eskenazi Health West 38th Street. “We want to be a welcoming place for the community for not only urgent medical needs but also their primary care."
Eskenazi Health West 38th Street was designed to represent a community center that also offers health care. The facility brings comprehensive health care to the International Marketplace Coalition, formerly the Lafayette Square Area Coalition, in a way that is environmentally friendly, culturally focused and available for all.
Eskenazi Health West 38th Street provides primary care for all ages. Other services include prenatal care, health and wellness programs, physical therapy, urgent care, radiology, pharmacy services, gynecological services, integrated pain services, orthopedic services, sports medicine, mammograms, dental services and other diagnostic testing services.
